Hello there, I’m Ali! I started this blog a back in 2009 because I was just starting to learn how to cook and bake. While I’m no longer a cooking and baking newbie, I found blogging to be a really valuable experience. It motivates me to cook more at home rather than eating out, but it’s also a lot of fun and is a great way to collect some favourite recipes. When I first started this blog, I was more of a baker than a cook, but now I find I’m leaning towards cooking more than baking (since you have to cook pretty much every day to live!).

Going back in the archives, you may notice that my diet has changed. As of January 1st, 2012 I became a vegetarian and so far I’ve found the transition to be both incredibly easy and delicious. On May 17th, 2012 I graduated from my undergraduate degree of a BSc of a Combined Honours in Biology and Neuroscience degree. I also completed my 200-hour yoga teacher certification as of May 6th, 2012.

In 2012 I moved to the Netherlands from September until December. You may notice an abundance of the same plates/tablecloth during that time period in my photos (and also the MacBook!). 🙂 Living in Europe was an amazing experience and I’m extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to live there.

When I’m not doing yoga, working, or cooking I love being home in my pajama’s reading a good book. I’m lucky that my boyfriend also enjoys being at home with me and that he loves to cook as well!
